How do I qualify for the 2013 ITC?

Qualification for the 2013 ITC will be determined by local competitions conducted by your country’s liaison. Liaison contact information will be available on August 3, 2012 UTC. Open Challenger slots will be available to non-profit (or international equivalent) organizations.

A limited number of unaffiliated Challenger slots will also be made available to non-profit organizations, sponsors and individuals. Unaffiliated Challenger slots will be made available on a first come, first service basis. Pre-register now to secure a spot in the queue.

Can my family and supporters attend the Tournament?
Absolutely. However, there is limited spectator space, so fan tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How many participants from each country are allowed?
Each country is assigned a minimum of ten (10) slots with additional slots based on population. If more slots become available due to countries not using their allotment or expanded physical capabilities of the tournament, then additional slots will be assigned by lottery.

Am I responsible for travel, lodging and meals?
Yes. All Challengers and supporters are responsible for their travel, lodging and meals. However, significant travel, lodging and meal discounts will be made available for competitors.

Will there be interpreters on-site?
Yes. Interpreters will be available for the most common spoken world languages including, but not limited to: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. Though your country’s liaison will be busy supporting all your country’s competitors, he/she will be available for your assistance.

Will I need a U.S. Visa?
Spectators and Challengers will generally require a B-2 visitors visa. However, acquiring your visa may be affected by your country’s relationship with the Host Country (2013 - U.S.). Please contact the U.S. State Department or your country’s embassy for more information about obtaining your visa.

Are there any age restrictions to participate in the ITC?
Challengers must be a minimum of 16 years old with a parent/guardian release. There is no upper age limit.

Are there any gender restrictions?
One of the factors which makes the ITC the only competition to eliminate all genetic barriers is the ability for any competitor to compete on a level playing field without handicaps or special allowances.

RULES & REGULATIONS

Am I responsible for bringing my own equipment?
No. You are only responsible for your apparel. You may bring personal equipment, but it must meet the standards as determined by the international body which oversees that particular sport or game. The Supervising Referee is responsible for final determinations as to use of non-ITC equipment

What is your Anti-Doping Policy?

All ITC main tournaments will follow IOC guidelines for anti-doping as prescribed by WADA. ITC qualifying events will conduct random testing during the qualifying tournaments. Click here for WADA & IOC guidelines.

Can I use the ITC logo and name?
Only authorized stakeholders may use the ITC logo and name. If you are chosen as one of your country’s competitors your liaison will provide you all necessary protocols.

What games and sports will appear at the Tournament?
The ITC has the most comprehensive catalog of sports and games in the world. Those sports and games which will be featured at the 2013 ITC are dependent on the facilities which are available. Of course, what makes the ITC the penultimate global competition is the versatility and strategic gamesmanship required by the competitors.
